Archer Comics Presents...

In the last ethics class, the topic of the "chapel peculiar" (an actual term believe it or not) came up. Honestly, you don't really expect to give a cartoonist that sort of fodder and have no reprisals do you?

Two points for whom can translate the latin. (Hint: it's a quote from Cicero.)

Here it is, your weekly moment of zen...

Do you, by any chance, "criticize customs through humor?"

Is that Johnny Cash or Elvis behind the altar?

I didn't really have anyone particular in mind. I just wanted the sideburns. In fact, the first draft of the cartoon was looking at the back of the priest's head, so you could see the altar book. I wanted a jab at Eucharistic Prayer C. I didn't feel like drawing an audience, and I wasn't sure if readers could really tell what they were looking at.

Now that you mention it, I guess it could be Johnny's long lost brother Elvis Cash...
