Merry Michaelmas!

Today is the Feast Day of St. Michael and All Angels, commonly called Michaelmas. In some places Michaelmas is a big to do, especially in towns where St Michael was the patron.

One of the prayers I often use at the four corners of a house, when I do a full house blessing is the Prayer of St. Michael:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

I really like this idea, Father. And I have always liked this day.
